PERSATUAN AGENSI PEMBANTU RUMAH ASING MALAYSIA
(MALAYSIAN ASSOCIATION OF FOREIGN MAID AGENCIES)

This Association, originally known as the Persatuan Agensi Pekerja Asing Malaysia (Malaysian Association of Foreign Worker Agencies) was registered in 1994 with the aim of:-

  • Bringing together all employment agencies licensed by the Department of Manpower, Ministry of Human Resources and registered with the Malaysian Immigration Department to recruit and bring in foreign workers including house maids;
  • To cooperate with the Government to ensure that supply of foreign labour is controlled and according to the laws of Malaysia
  • To create a platform for members to voice their grievences vis-a-vis their business activities and to work for the common benefit of all members
  • To discipline members who step out of line whether in their behaviour as member or run their business in a manner which will bring disrepute to the Association in particular and the foreign maid industry in general.

Membership to this Association is open to all employment agencies licensed by the Department of Manpower, Ministry of Human Resourses, Malaysia and also registered with the Malaysian Immigration Department.

However, on the advice of the Malaysian Immigration Department, the name of the Association was changed to “Malayisan Association of Foreign Maid Agencies” w.e.f. 2.2.2000 as employment agencies were permitted to handle only foreign maids on behalf of employers.

SERVICES PROVIDED

(i) To receive complaints from employers/public against member agencies.

(ii) To advise and assist complainants to settle their problems with members agencies.
