NOTICE TO PAPA MEMBERS: ISSUES RELATING TO FOMEMA SDN BHD

1. HEALTH SCREENING

There are some issues and matters that have been brought to our attention and we would like to keep all PAPA members informed of the numerous issues that have risen. As these issues concerned all of us even to the employers of non-members, we feel it right to update all members on the issues at hand.

We have noted that there has been an increase of Maids failing their FOMEMA health screening (post-arrival - 1st time in Malaysia). This has inconvenienced all parties including loss of time and incurring of incidental cost of conducting another re-medical check-up; having to send the maid back home even wrongly diagnosed as unfit and the non-appealable cases that should be considered.

As a result, the AJK would like to advise all members on certain guidelines to follow to prevent and to reduce the probability of Maids being diagnosed wrongly as medically unfit after the health screening due to ignorance or mistake.
